We’re setting up alongside Tank Mosley and Obedience Kings Dog Training, our official training partners, for two days of hands-on tips, activities, and prizes.

If you’ve ever watched your dog lose their mind at the sight of another dog across the street and thought “I should really do something about that” — this is your weekend.
Tank will be on hand both days with free, practical training tips you can actually use: leash manners, reactivity, recall, building confidence in a busy environment. No sales pitch, no ninety-minute lecture. Just real answers to the thing your dog is doing that’s driving you up a wall.
We’ll also have:
- Hands-on activities for you and your pup to try right there on the floor
- Prizes and giveaways throughout both days
- Everyone who runs the taphouse, happy to talk taps, the Pack membership, and which signature dog you should order first

What else is happening at Pet Palooza
The Convention Center goes all out on this one:
- Luring 101 — a lure course to let your dog stretch out and run
- Meet & Adopt — rescue organizations on-site with adoptable pets looking for their people
- Dog ball pit — exactly what it sounds like, and yes, it’s a lot
- Reptile shows — hold something with scales if you’re feeling brave
- Pet goats — again, exactly what it sounds like
- Vendors galore — treats, toys, gear, and pet services from across the region
Why we’re sponsoring
Because this is our crowd. Pet Palooza pulls in the same people who fill our beer garden on a Saturday — folks who plan their weekend around whether the dog can come.
That’s the whole idea behind The Barking Barley. We’re a taphouse first: rotating Virginia craft beer and cider, a gourmet hot dog menu, a beer garden built for lingering. We just happen to have built the kind of place where your dog is genuinely welcome instead of grudgingly tolerated.
Dogs drink free. Owners do not.
Tickets
Pet Palooza tickets are handled by the Fredericksburg Convention Center.
Heads up: pets are welcome, but their humans need to sign a waiver at the door to bring them in.
After the Palooza
The Convention Center is about ten minutes from our front door. Get your tips from Tank, then come put them to work — the park’s open, the taps are pouring, and the beer garden is a much better place to decompress than the parking lot.
