But here’s what makes us different from every other dog park in the Fredericksburg area: while your dog is burning off energy, you don’t have to just stand around. Pull up a seat at our picnic tables inside the park, or head into the taphouse and grab a craft beer, a cider, or one of our signature hot dogs. Our staff — we call them Ruffarees — keep an eye on the pack so you can actually relax.

Plenty of our regulars come in dogless and leave having made a dozen new four-legged friends. Come for the beer, the hot dogs, and the entertainment of watching 20 dogs absolutely lose their minds over a tennis ball. It’s better than anything on TV.
Located at 1515 Olde William Street in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia, The Barking Barley is convenient to Fredericksburg residents, as well as visitors from Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and anywhere else in the region looking for a dog-friendly outing. We’re open Wednesday through Friday from 2–7pm and Saturday through Sunday from 12–7pm. Day passes are available on-site — no advance registration needed for first-timers.
